When Fatema Poonwala was a child, she dreamed of becoming a lawyer – but we don’t hold that against her.

As MeDM’s Senior Graphic Designer, Fatema brings her wealth of branding, marketing, UX, and graphic design skills and experience to the table. We are enthralled with her eye for design and ability to continually come up with fresh, creative concepts for our clients. This – in addition to her enthusiasm and get-it-done attitude – makes her the perfect fit for our team.

A business woman in her own right, Fatema also runs a freelance branding and graphic design consulting company. Comfortable taking the lead or working as part of a team, her previous positions include: social media manager; art director for the multinational advertising agency, Mullen Lowe; marketing designer; and multidisciplinary designer.

Fatema holds a Bachelors of Arts in Communication Design with a major in graphic design and illustration. She also studied UX design to become well-versed in the fundamentals of design psychology, user personas, and research.

In her free time, Fatema enjoys painting, reading, and practicing yoga. Her favourite book is something she read about 4.5 years ago before becoming a mother. In all seriousness, she’s currently reading a book about brand strategy (for fun!).

Born and raised in Karachi, Pakistan, Fatema now lives in the small town of Tecumsah, Ontario. Happily married, she is mother to a clever four-and-a-half-year-old daughter, and rambunctious eight-month-old son.

When she’s not preventing her little one from crawling up the stairs and destroying her lovely home, she tries to explore new restaurants and cafes while catching up with family and friends. On any given Sunday, you will find Fatema attempting to sleep in as her children crawl all over her.

She wouldn’t have it any other way.
