A jack of all trades and master of… quite a few, actually, David Still is MeDM’s fearless leader.
As creative director and owner, David helps run all aspects of MeDM’s agency to ensure we not only meet our obligations, but exceed them. His curiosity, active listening skills, and methodical approach makes him well suited to solving business problems. We appreciate how he cultivates meaningful relationships with clients over time and this translates into a workload that keeps everyone involved happy.
In launching MeDM, David hopes to disrupt the current agency model that prioritizes work product over employee retention and happiness. As such, he prioritizes a balance between employee well-being and lifestyle, and the stability and success of the company. He uses his (often wicked) sense of humour, intelligence, and empathy to create the kind of culture that keeps us feeling respected and valued. Even when the occasional hiccup occurs, we know we can count on him to stand by us and find a solution.
Prior to forming his own agency, David worked as a research associate for the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Calgary, focussing in econometrics and model building. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Astrophysics and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Economics from Queen’s University in addition to a Master of Arts in Economics from University of Calgary. During his time at the Queen’s Astrophysics Department (1999-2003), professor Dr. Arthur B. McDonald was deep into the Solar Neutrino Research via the SNO observatory that would ultimately win the noble Prize for physics in 2015 … making him in his own words “Nobel-Prize adjacent.”
When not pondering the nature of the universe, David enjoys reading, sailing, backcountry camping, canoeing, kayaking, and photography. As a foodie, he enjoys perfecting food and drink recipes and then sharing these delicious meals and libations with family and friends (pro tip: always RSVP “yes” to his smash burger BBQ).
Originally from Toronto, Ontario, David currently lives in Calgary, Alberta with his fiance, Allison. A great day begins and ends with her, and involves supporting his team and loved ones in between.
